Reasons to Travel to Iran:  Textiles, Rugs, Kilims and Carpets

Textiles are products of the cultures from which they originate.  As expressed time and time again on this site, textiles are more than just objects.  They are expressions of traditions and values.  They are works of art.

In understanding and appreciating textiles, it is impossible to separate them from their origins.  If you love textiles, it is a natural step, then, to want to travel to the land from which they come.  When you know the textiles, travel broadens and enhances your knowledge.  When you learn about the culture from which they came through travel, you only appreciate and enjoy the rugs and kilims more.  But textiles are only one small aspect of the wonder found in Iran.

Don't just go to Iran for the textiles, but definitely go to Iran!
