world famous for their durability and fine weave. Bijars are
known as the "iron carpet" of Persia, and at the same time are
beautiful and magical enough to take you anywhere you want to
go in the world. They are the "Cadillac" of magic, flying
carpets, plus they look great in dining rooms and semi-formal
or formal living rooms or other settings. You can't go wrong
with a Bijar.
For Bijar runners, as with
Bijar rugs, there are two main kinds of washes. "Bright
wash" means that the rug has white in it and the colors are
cooler, blue based shades. "Walnut wash" means that the
rug has been washed with a stain made from walnut shells.
The stain makes all the whites look cream and slightly mutes
the colors to give it more of an antique look and a warmer
glow of yellowed tones. Both washes are beautiful, it
just depends on your decor and personal taste.
