| The village of
Borujen is located in south central Iran, just north of the
Qashq'ai weaving areas and west of the Bakhtiari weaving
areas. Because of its location, Borujen rug designs show
an influence from many of their neighbors as well as
incorporating their own elements. The dyes used in these
rugs are all derived from natural sources- bugs and plants.
The result of these fabulous designs and beautiful dyes is a
village rug with a strong tribal influence, woven in the same
way and with the same elements as the fabulous tribal rugs of
yore. Most rugs from
Borujen are woven on a wool warp with wool pile. They
tend to have rich, beautiful colors, and stunning design
elements.
Borujen rugs would look good
in any room of the house, but I think they would be
particularly stunning over hard wood floors. Their
designs would go well with modern decor or with just about
anything.
