| Away down south
near the city of Kerman, the Afshar tribes people still live
in much the same way as their fore bearers. Southern
Iran is very dry and the people that live there are always
hoping for a garden, and since gardens are not easily
accessible, the weavers put them into rugs. Afshar
weavers are famous for their fine knots and intricate detail.
These little rugs are fine
examples of the beautiful tribal productions from this area.
Rugs are woven in the home on narrow looms, so most of these
are smaller rugs. If you have a corner in your home that
needs a little splash or a garden look, any one of these
little gems would brighten it up. The details and colors
